Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Overflow Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines. We are a General Council affiliated church with the Assemblies of God.

God is the Creator
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
Jesus is the Son of God
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
The Holy Spirit was sent by God
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
John 14:16
The Bible is God's Word
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16
Worship is essential for a relationship with Jesus Christ
Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.
Psalm 100:2
Spirit filled teaching and preaching is essential for our daily walk
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.

Community is important
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
